The Romans Troop

The Romans Scout Troop is run by four leaders and is open to both girls and boys.

The scouts are grouped into four patrols: Eagles, Gannets, Panthers and Wolves. At the core of our program lies the Scout Law and Promise.  We meet most Friday evenings during term time, usually at 7.05 to 9 pm if we are meeting at the 1st Winchester HQ or 7 to 9 pm if we are ‘out-and-about’.

We run a common program with the 1st Winchester Greeks (Thursday evening) scout troop and all of our camps are run jointly between the two troops. Most years our scouts have the opportunity to go on about 5 different camps including our group Summer and Winter camps as well as District and County camps.

Our Leaders

Our leadership team is entirely made up of volunteers. All adult leaders have training and a CRB check, and there is always at least one adult who is first aid qualified.

We are always looking for other adults to join us as leaders or helpers in order to provide the best possible program for our scouts.  As we have a strong team of leaders you don’t have to join us very week; only when you have time.

“I did two new things this year; surfing and coasteering, both of them while I was on summer camp with the scouts.” Richard – Scout Leader.
