Why the # in #TheLongHaul?

We want people to follow us on Twitter before and during the 12-13th July event.  You can search for conversations on Twitter using #TheLongHaul.  You don’t need to follow anyone to see these conversations!  Just add #TheLongHaul into your tweet and you’ll see what everyone is saying!  Start doing it now and get used to it.  It will mean you’ll know exactly where the cart is throughout the weekend and how much we are raising as we make our way to Winchester!

#TheLongHaul T-Shirts

A limited number of #TheLongHaul t-shirts are available to people taking part in the event next weekend.  Look at The Long Haul pages and see what you can do.  But be quick!  There’s less than a week left!

The Long Haul

The Long Haul is our big event for this summer is one of our Scout leaders, Rob Thomson, is going to pull a Scout Trek Cart from Brownsea Island to Winchester from Saturday 12th to Sunday 13thJuly.

We aim to raise over £10,000.00 towards the Bigger & Better campaign and at a recent Scouting event Chief Scout, Bear Grylls, has wished us luck adding that he was impressed with the challenge we’ve set ourselves.

Pre-School Provider Selected

After a series of interviews, the YMCA has been chosen as the provider of the pre-school in the new hut.  This is an exciting choice, the YMCA already have ten pre-schools (four of which are outstanding) in Hampshire, as well as Fairthorne Manor.

Demolition complete!

A huge thanks to everyone who turned up yesterday to help knock down the inside of the hut.  Mission accomplished and we are now ready for the builders to start in the next few weeks.

THE 30 CHALLENGE BADGE – DONOR TO BOOST FUNDRAISING

Hopefully you’ve all received details of the 30 Challenge badge and your children are busy planning their fundraising.  Well, good news!  An anonymous donor has promised to give 50p for every £1 raised by each young person as part of the challenge badge – the more the young people raise the more the donor gives!

Leaders, please continue to promote this scheme.
